Leather Blouse “DAVE

– A Unique Leather Jacket with the Essence of Handmade Craftsmanship

Inspired by the rugged charm of 1970s American hippie culture, the “DAVE” leather blouse captures the spirit of vintage craftsmanship. This unique leather jacket combines the raw, artisanal feel of hand-crafted leather with an unmistakable individuality.

Made from Hokkaido-native Ezo deer leather, the material undergoes a special tanning process that brings out its rich, textured grain, filled with oil for a rough-hewn aesthetic. Thinned to a 1.2mm thickness, it’s surprisingly lightweight, allowing it to be worn comfortably like a shirt while still offering the appeal of a leather jacket. With natural edges on the collar, pockets, hem, and cuffs, each piece has a one-of-a-kind look that highlights its craftsmanship.

The T-back detail on the back is not only a design choice but also optimizes the leather’s use, enhancing the relaxed drape and giving it a perfect, nuanced silhouette. The 100% cotton half-lining offers a touch of classic American style with a distinctly artisan feel. Handwritten leather tags, buckle-back details, and careful finishing show an uncompromising dedication to quality in every detail.

Ezo deer leather is an ethical material derived from a species native to Hokkaido, Japan, and is sourced as a way to repurpose what would otherwise be discarded, honoring each animal’s life. The leather is tanned using full vegetable tanning with only dyes, creating natural hues and vintage-like character, while aging beautifully over time. With continuous wear, “DAVE” becomes more than just a jacket; it turns into a unique, essential piece that embodies the wearer’s personality and lifestyle.

The Unique Quality of Ezo Deer Leather and Exceptional Tanning Techniques

The leather used in the “DAVE” jacket is sourced from Ezo deer, a unique subspecies native to the natural landscapes of Hokkaido, Japan. This leather is carefully selected for its ethical and sustainable value, as it repurposes hides that would otherwise be discarded, honoring the cycle of life in an eco-conscious way.

The tanning process is a full vegetable-tanning technique that uses only plant-based tannins and no pigments, instead relying solely on dyes. The leather is treated with high-quality Italian hard wax, creating natural variations and burnished textures that develop a rich patina with time and wear. This meticulous process gives the leather a unique aging effect, evoking a vintage quality and depth that becomes more pronounced over time. Marks and textures unique to wild deer remain on the leather, adding a distinctive presence to each piece.

Crafted with time, skill, and attention to detail, “DAVE” leather embodies the essence of artisan craftsmanship. It evolves with each passing moment, gradually taking on a character unique to its wearer, making it an irreplaceable personal item in anyone’s wardrobe.
